From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a warm, inviting ambiance that captures the essence of the Dominican Republic—from the colorful decor to the rhythmic music that fills the space, creating an authentic and lively dining atmosphere.

The menu at Ajo y Orégano bursts with flavor and tradition, showcasing classic Caribbean dishes with fresh, satisfying twists. If you’re craving an unforgettable taste experience, you can’t miss their Chimi Tostones Sliders, a harmonious blend of crispy tostones topped with savory fillings that create a perfect bite-sized delight. The Pescado Boca Chica offers a beautifully cooked fish dish honoring the flavors of the Dominican coast, while the Chicharron De Pollo Sin Hueso features succulent, boneless fried chicken strips that are golden, crispy, and bursting with seasoning.

For those looking to indulge further, the Shrimp Mofongo combines the beloved mofongo—mashed fried plantains—with tender shrimp, layered with aromatic garlic and herbs, making each mouthful a celebration of Caribbean culinary mastery. Meat lovers will appreciate the Bistec Encebollado, a tender skirt steak cooked with caramelized onions, or the Churrasco with White Rice and Guandules, a grilled skirt steak dressed with chimichurri and served alongside perfectly cooked pigeon peas for a hearty, satisfying meal.

No meal would be complete without sampling their refreshing beverages—sip on a Pitcher of Red Sangria or a freshly muddled Mojito Casero to complement the robust flavors of your meal. For something uniquely tropical, the Jugo De Tamarindo or Guanabana Juice offer sweet, tangy, and utterly refreshing fruit juices that transport you to a sun-drenched island paradise.

Families are warmly welcomed here, and the kids’ menu offers comforts like Fried White Cheese, Chicken Fingers, and Fried Salami—all priced reasonably and made with the same care as the main dishes.

Real guests have shared heartfelt experiences that echo the deep cultural connection this restaurant inspires. Xiomi Gonzalez described it as a “gem,” praising the warm hospitality and delicious food that made her family want to return again and again. Johnny Zambrano captured the essence perfectly, noting how the mofongos—especially with four cheeses—truly make you feel at home with every flavor-packed bite. Meanwhile, Samuel Espinal expressed how the entire atmosphere—from the decor to the music and the beers—reminds him of the Dominican Republic itself. The careful and friendly service by staff like Pedro (“Tio Pepe”) ties it all together, making each visit feel personal and memorable.

Whether you’re in the mood for a comforting stew like the Sancocho or the spicy Rabo Encendido (oxtail stew), or craving popular plate specials like the Churrasco A La Paila or the impressive Mary Tierra Con Mofongo—Ajo y Orégano offers a feast that is as authentic as it is irresistible.

I stumbled upon this gem with my family. The moment we walked in the hostess Jazmine greeted us and was very welcoming. Service was amazing! The food was great everything we ate was so delicious. We will definitely return when we’re back in town.

Me and my Church came here and had an amazing meal! We all had different orders and all enjoyed. Their juices are also great. I will be coming back! On my own time! Thank you all!

Excellent Dominican food, and its name, " Ajo y Oregano," lives up to its dishes. The place is a little small but very cozy. Mr. Pedro is always friendly and cordial. His mofongos are delicious with four cheeses, everything typical Dominican style, which will make you feel in home. I recommend it

Omg! This place reminds me so much of Dominican Republic. The colors, the design, the ambiance, the music, the beers, the food! I highly recommend this location to anyone who loves good food.

The food was amazing as always! I write this as im too full to get up from the table. Our servers name was Pedro but they call him Tio Pepe. He's awesome. Myself, my bestie and the hubby had the ceviche de cerdo, which is fried pork chunks and Maduro with onions, yuca, peppers and lime juice. I get extra lime juice on the side with an order of tostones and fried cheese. This appetizer is to die for in my opinion. We then ordered a pina colada while we waited for our main course. The drinks were good I think they may have made it with fresh pineapple. I had the Boca Chica (red snapper) with rice and beans, hubby had the Rabito encendio (oxtail stew), and the bestie had Pechuga rellena (stuffed fried chicken breast, maduros, bacon, ham, and a Dominican twist on teriyaki sauce) we all shared and all 3 meals were perfect. The desert we had the bread pudding and the tree leches. It was so flavorful, and fresh. There wasn't anything I didn't like. I cant wait to come again to try the monfongo which seems to very popular at surrounding tables. The music is good and not too loud and the ambiance is great as well. Def a place to try if you already haven't.

I quite enjoyed eating here. Especially the mofongo de chicharron de cerdo. Also got the churrasco and the chimi tostones. Wish the meat on the chimi tostones was a little bit thinner but still good. The atmosphere was great, I felt like family members were asking me how everything was etc.
